The Story of Whiting Bay
Welcome back to all our members and followers, it has been a difficult two years for many. But we think now is time to return and we have an exciting event planned.

The Story of Whiting Bay
We are pleased to announce our forthcoming special event for July.
Whiting Bay and District Memories Group are holding a weekend long interactive exhibition in our village hall.
The exhibitions will include previously recorded video, film, your contributed photos, family histories, historical documents and news items relating to our village and districts.
Featuring “WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE”
We have some very interesting family histories to include, these are very much a part of the story and have helped to shape the village as we know it today.
Your family connections are an important part of the story, they can be from any period during the last 200 years! and include any number of generations.
INTERACTIVE
We plan to add family names and pictures to the well-loved old pictures in our collection. Our interactive exhibition will give visitors the opportunity to add in their families, holiday pictures, stories, memories houses and favourite places.
Happy holiday memories and pictures and stories can also be included.
HOLIDAYS
Almost every property was given over to holiday accommodation during the season, families would move into the back house for the summer. Visitors would become friends and return year after year.
Was your family one of these? We would love to include your memories and pictures.
The growing “Story of Whiting Bay” is being researched, prepared and will be presented by our group.
Would you like to help and get involved?
Volunteers welcome
We would be delighted to include your memories and any pictures you would like to share.
Memories can be shared by: email: whitingbay.memories@gmail.com
by post to: Whiting Bay Memories c/o Lynn Cottage, Whiting Bay, Isle of Arran KA27 8PR
Or bring them to the event and volunteers will show you where they will be displayed. Any pictures on loan for the event should have your name on the back and can be collected on Sunday afternoon or sooner if you wish.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Best wishes from the memories group.
