Whiting Bay Hall PROJECT 2023

This page is a snapshot of ideas for your Stitched Stories Project.

We begin with our own snapshot. The memories group decided to brainstorm as many events, groups and uses as we could think of over the years. This was based on research, our contributed images and stories and documents.

We began with the letter we have transcribed on our stitched stories page. Next we noted it took 2 years for the community to fund raise.

Next “Official opening of Whiting Bay Public Hall” in July 1926

We have picked out some important things from this very special event, in no particular  order and we think they would support the story in stitches.

At the opening Captain James Mathie presented the Duke with a GOLDEN KEY the Duke used this to open the hall door.

Little Miss Annie Mathie presented the Dutchess with a BOUQUET OF FLOWERS
