Come along and see some of the panels so far. Get tips and ideas of how some of our stitchers create their stiched story of the hall panel. It’s all good fun.
100 Stitched Stories update 23/1/24
Our enthusiastic stitchers are working apace and between them have produced a number of varied and creative panels for the celebratory banner. There are still ideas and memories to be recreated so, if you fancy trying your hand at one of these, or if you have an idea of your own, get in touch (link below) or just get started! Read below and our associated pages for more information about this project.

We were delighted with the response at our project launch. A lovely sunny day helped and a packed hall with over 40 enthusiastic stitchers enjoyed a morning of memories, ideas and project plans. Naturally teas, coffee and cake was there to welcome everyone.
The Arran Banner report our launch.

A fabulous display of work from a similar project 52 stitched stories and Fiona’s textile art work was much admired and provided many ideas.
Whiting Bay Memories displayed a wonderful selection of images and important historical information of the hall, the aim being to capture the full 100 years of the hall and its many varied uses, from groups to events in this project.
If you were unable to attend our launch but would enjoy participating via Zoom? Our zoom launch is 1st February 7pm UK time. All Welcome

Dear Mr Mackenzie
at the initial meeting of the British Legion for this season held here this week it was the feeling of everyone that public feeling had reached a stage when something might be done to promote a scheme for a public hall, with recreation rooms and it was the unanimous decision that you were the person most admirably suited to act as a neutral chairman.
It was suggested that a public meeting might be convened say within a fortnight in the public hall Please let me know what you think of this suggestion.
Yours sincerely
William Carnegie
Chairman
At the Project Launch
